Sophie’s Art Tour takes a closer look at the major shifts in Vietnam’s modern history through the eyes of artists. From the grand halls of the nation's fine art museums to the fresh white spaces of leading contemporary art galleries, this journey will take you from colonialism to independence and from post war to globalisation.
The tour is based on the personal experiences of artists who studied, fought, witnessed and documented major changes in the 20th and 21st century Vietnam. This tour is not just for art lovers but also for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam.
Alongside private and public tours, we offer a comprehensive education programme for schools and universities. Clients have included Harvard University, School of Art Institute Chicago, Australia National University, Cranbrook Academy of Art, Fulbright University Vietnam, Cedar Girls' School and Yishun School, Singapore.

PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TOURS
for curious travellers and inquisitive residents
This is our standard tour half day tour that runs in HCMC and Hanoi.
You will visit private collections, museums, contemporary galleries and independent art spaces whilst learning about Vietnamese history from colonialism to today. Tours run from 9am to 1pm. Solo travellers are welcome to join group tours. Afternoon tours can be arranged.

EDUCATIONAL TOURS
for school and university students
These tours are designed to engage with people of all ages through participatory learning.
Throughout the tour students are invited to connect with historical, social and artistic themes to give them a deeper understanding of Vietnamese history and role of artists within society. Tours can be tailored to correspond to specific themes and curricular needs.

FAQ
Transport
This is not a walking tour, we will travel in an air conditioned minibus between the stops on the tour.
Cancellation Policy
Once you have confirmed a booking please give 48 hours or more notice if you want to re-schedule or cancel your booking. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the tour please note that you will have to pay a cancellation fee. Thank you for your understanding.
Access
The galleries and museums that we visit are not all wheelchair access, however tours can be organised upon request to visit accessible spaces.
Insurance
Sophie’s Art Tour does not accept liability in any way, for injuries to body or property incurred during or as a result of the tour. Please make sure your travel insurance covers you for illness, injury, theft or any other occurrence that may happen while in HCMC and Hanoi. Your understanding is much appreciated.
